Src Endowment Fund Board Inaugurated

The Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Kumasi Technical University ING Prof. Osei-Wusu Achaw has inaugurated a new board for the Students’ Representative Council’s (SRC) Endowment Fund on Thursday, 18th February, 2021.

In his address to the gathering, the VC described the Endowment Fund as already existing excellent initiative by the (SRC). He said the Funds is meant for the students to contribute something towards the development of the University.

KsTU’s Oduro Samuel Wins Bronze At The Cross-Country Athletic Competition

A second-year diploma student of Kumasi Technical University Master Oduro Samuel, has placed third in the 6th Cross Country Athletic competition held in Accra by Ghana Athletics Association.

Over 20 participants took part in this competition and the 18-year old KsTU student who represented Ashanti region of Ghana placed third in the fiercely contested competition. The Diploma of Fashion student from the Faculty of Creative Arts and Technology has thus, qualified to the national level and will be part of soon-to-be-held competition which is to take place in Togo.

Kumasi Technical University Holds its 29th Matriculation Ceremony

Kumasi Technical University on Thursday 4th and Friday 5th March, 2021 held its matriculation to welcome all freshmen and women officially into the Institution. The Ceremony which was organised over a two-day period saw six thousand and fifty-one (6051) students being matriculated out of over 8000 applicants. There was strict adherence to COVID-19 safety protocols which necessitated holding the programme in two days. Specifically, on the first day, the programme was organised in three sessions involving six faculties and the Graduate School.

The 16th Congregation of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) was held on 27th February, 2021 at the New Great Hall of the University with 3,546 people graduating. This comprised students who completed their various programmes of study in the 2019/2020 academic year. Out of the 3,546 graduands, only first class students were allowed to be physically present at the programme. The graduands received certificates in Master of Technology (MTech), Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Higher National Diploma (HND), Professional and other Diplomas.

KsTU Receives Fresh Students

Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) has opened its doors to freshmen and women who have been admitted to pursue various programmes of study for the 2020/ 2021 academic year. After a long school break due to the emergence of COVID-19, KsTU is pleased to receive its first year students for the new academic year and entreats all students to comply with all the COVID-19 protocols as they go about their studies.

KsTU Honours Its Retired Staff

Kumasi Technical University (KsTU has honored its staff who retired in 2019/2020 academic year. The brief but impressive event took place in the Council Chamber of the University on the 30th November, 2020.  Welcoming the retirees, the Registrar of the Institution Mr. Ebenezer Kofi Boakye informed the gathering about the fact that ordinarily, the event should have included the entire University community amidst merriment. However, COVID-19 did not allow the usual end of year get-together with the retirees.

MP for Subin Constituency Donates PPE to Kumasi Technical University

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Subin Constituency Hon. Eugene Boakye Antwi who also doubles as the Deputy Minister of Works and Housing has donated some Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the Kumasi Technical University to support the Institution’s fight against the Corona Virus (COVID-19). 

The items donated included some packs of tissue papers, a box of liquid soap, three boxes of sanitizers and 200 face shields to support the University as it fights the deadly COVID-19.

The 2019/2020 executives of Pharmaceutical Sciences Students Association of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) have presented some items to the Pharmaceutical Science Department of the University. The executives who showed this kind gesture were led by Bright K. Amegadzi. KsTU Donates Foot-Operated-Hand-Washing-Machines

Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) has in its bid to support government’s efforts towards preventing the continuous spread of the Coronavirus Pandemic has manufactured “Foot-Operated-Handwashing-Machines” which has been donated some selected Government Institutions.

It is worth mentioning that the University was among the first to innovate such a machine and after its acceptance by the general public thus has produced on a large scale for donation. The machine makes use of the foot in its operations and thus eliminate the likelihood of contaminating one’s hand in the process.
