PHD/DTECH PROGRAMMES
A candidate seeking admission into PhD/DTech programme must:
i. Have an MPhil/MSc/MTech. degree in related areas from an accredited
university.
ii. Submit an o昀케cial transcript of academic records.
iii.Submit three refereeís reports, two of which must be from someone who
is familiar with the applicantís academic work.
iv.Submit a 3ñ5-page research proposal of his/her intended research area.
v. Pass an interview.
vi.Demonstrate evidence of financial capability.
vii. Satisfy any additional requirements prescribed by the Graduate School.
MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAMMES
i. Applicants with a first degree (at least Second-Class Lower) in any
related field of study from a recognized University.
ii. Applicants with pass and industry experience will be required to partake
in an entrance interview for admission consideration.
iii.HND graduates with requisite work experience qualify to apply. Such
applicants must undertake an abridge programme.

FIRST DEGREE PROGRAMMES
WASSCE/ SSSCE Candidates
Applicants with a minimum grade of C6 or better in three (3) core subjects
i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, and Integrated Science as well as
in three (3) relevant elective subjects.
MATURE CANDIDATES
The mature applicant must:
i. Be at least 25 years old at the time of application.
ii. Show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary
evidence.
iii.Must pass an Entrance Examination.
CERTIFICATE II APPLICANTS (TECHNICAL SCHOOL GRADUATESCTVET)
Credit passes or better in three (3) core subjects namely; English Language,
Core mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies and must possess
three (3) credit passes or better in three relevant elective subjects
HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
WASSCE/SSSCE APPLICANTS
WASSCE applicants must have six (6) passes (A1ñ D7) in all subjects including
English Language, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science (or Social
Studies for Arts and Business Programmes) and at least three (3) of the
subjects must be C6 or better. The elective subjects must be relevant to the
programme.
SSSCE applicants must have six (6) passes (A ñ D) in all subjects including
English Language, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science (or Social
Studies for Arts and Business Programmes) and at least three (3) of the
subjects must be Credit or better. The elective subjects must be relevant to
the programme.
MATURE APPLICANTS
Candidates must be at least twenty-five (25) years of age at the time of
application and must attach proof of age with birth certificates or other
legitimate documentary evidence to the completed application forms. In
addition, Mature applicants must pass the Entrance Examinations to be
conducted in English Language, Mathematics and General Knowledge. The
mature candidate must have relevant working experience in the subject
area.
DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
Passes in five (5) WASSCE/SSSCE subjects including English and Core
Mathematics or five (5) passes in ICAS/Cambridge ‘O’ Level, /GBCE including
English Language and Mathematics.
INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS
(ALL PROGRAMMMES)
International applicants may be admitted on the basis of qualifications from
their home countries for which equivalence shall be determined by the
Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) and submitted to the
University. Evidence of proficiency in English Language will be required in
the case of applicants from non-English speaking countries.
