Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) has unveiled a new traditional cloth as the official wear for the University on Monday, 11th November, 2019 at the Great Hall of the University. The blue-black, yellow orca and red-orange newly created cloth was unveiled amidst pump and pageantry with the Modeling Team from the Faculty of Creative Arts and Technology (FCAT) spicing up the event with their splendid catwalk.
Ghana’s industrial development has good prospects for transformation as more women opt for the study of Engineering.
That is the optimistic Vice-Chancellor of Kumasi Technical University, Professor Osei-Wusu Achaw, speaking on the sidelines of the school’s 27th matriculation.
He said the university and the nation have much to gain by encouraging females to pursue courses in engineering.
Out of 4,561 students admitted this academic year, 1,839, representing 30 per cent are women.
The contribution of the informal food vendors cannot be underestimated as it forms about 80% of the vendors in the country. In view of that, a nationwide sensitisation programme spearheaded by Kumasi Technical University was organised for food handlers in the various regions of Ghana involving the chop bar operators, drinking bars, traditional fast food operators and snack bars.

There was ‘tension’ at Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) on Thursday 19th September 2019, as the staff went to the polls to elect a new member of Convocation to represent the non-teaching staff on the University’s Council. It is believed to be the fiercest competition ever in the recent past regarding elections in the University. There was a vacancy created in the Convocation representation on the University Council following the appointment of Mr. Ebenezer Kofi Boakye, the non-teaching Representative of Convocation as the new Registrar of the University.
Mr. Akwasi Sarfo Agyemang, the Assistant Registrar in charge of Students’ Affairs at Kumasi Technical University has been appointed as the West Africa Regional Coordinator for International Association of Student Affairs and Services (IASAS). This Association is a professional one formed for student affairs practitioners in higher education. This is an achievement that is likely to motivate the entire staff of Kumasi Technical University and we congratulate him for that.
Mr. Francis Baidoo of the Estate Unit of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) has been enstooled as the Mankrado of Ajumako Abrofowa in the Central region of Ghana. His stool name is Nana Asimah II. This news was received with great excitement by the whole of Kumasi Technical University and the Institution wishes to congratulate Mr. Francis Baidoo for such an achievement.
A powerful delegation from the Canadian High Commission has paid a courtesy call on Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) on Tuesday 10th September, 2019 to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the University for being instrumental in the rescue of the two Canadian girls who were kidnapped in the Ashanti Region about three months ago. The delegation consisted of Bryan Cox who is the Executive Director of Youth Challenge International, Susan D.
