U.S. Embassy Delegation Visits Kumasi Technical University to Strengthen Educational Partnership

A high-profile delegation from the U.S. Embassy in Ghana, led by Ms. Emily S. Fertikk, the Head of Public Diplomacy Section and the Education USA Regional Manager for West and Central Africa, paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU), Prof. Gabriel Dwomoh. The visit aimed at reinforcing the existing partnership between the two institutions and explore new avenues for collaboration.
The delegation was warmly received by the Vice-Chancellor and his Management team. The visit included series of meetings with both the University’s officials and the students. During these interactions, Ms. Fertikk highlighted the purpose of their tour of the Ashanti region, which is to encourage and guide students on pursuing educational opportunities and accessing graduate programmes in the United States. She emphasised the importance of expanding the ties between U.S. universities and KsTU.
In her address, Ms. Fertikk educated the students on the American educational system, detailing the various opportunities available and the application procedures for U.S. programmes. She encouraged the students to take full advantage of those opportunities to advance their academic and professional goals.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Gabriel Dwomoh expressed his optimism about the visit, noting that the ongoing collaboration between the U.S. Embassy in Ghana and KsTU has been highly beneficial.
The visit concluded with an interactive session where students had the opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance on studying in the United States. The engagement was held with enthusiasm and appreciation from the KsTU community, especially, among the students who are eager to explore the prospects of international education and cultural exchange.
