The Faculty of Health Sciences at Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) has received a donation of five clinical microscopes to support teaching, learning, and research within the Institution.
Out of the total, three microscopes were donated by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gabriel Dwomoh, while the executives of the Department of Laboratory Sciences presented the remaining two. The microscopes were officially received by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Samuel Osei Djarbeng, on behalf of the Faculty.
The donation aims to provide students with practical tools to improve their under-standing of scientific concepts and enhance hands-on training in laboratory work. Receiving the microscopes, Prof. Djarbeng expressed his appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor and the departmental executives for their generous support and commitment to advancing quality education at KsTU. He emphasised that the microscopes would be used effectively and maintained properly to ensure their longevity and impact.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Gabriel Dwomoh, in his remarks, commended the Department for its dedication and pledged his support to improve facilities that directly benefit students. He highlighted the importance of practical science education and affirmed that the new microscopes would significantly contribute to the academic and professional development of students in laboratory science.
The Department of Laboratory Sciences, under the Faculty of Health Sciences, plays a vital role in training students for careers in the health sector and related industries, including mining.
This donation marks another milestone in the University's ongoing efforts to strengthen science and health education through improved infrastructure and resource provision.
