KsTU Emerges Champions of FG-MELSA National Quiz Competition 2025 over 36 Universities

Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) has once again demonstrated academic excellence and intellectual prowess as the University’s Health Sciences team emerged winners of the FG-MELSA National Quiz Competition 2025, organised by the Federation of Ghana Medical Laboratory Students' Associations (FG-MELSA).
The prestigious competition, which featured 36 universities and health training institutions across the country, culminated in a thrilling final round that saw KsTU go head-to-head with the University of Cape Coast, Takoradi Technical University, and Narh-Bita College. In a spectacular display of knowledge and confidence, KsTU clinched victory with 76 points out of a total of 80, leaving the first runner-up far behind with 45 points. Other notable institutions that competed in the earlier stages included KNUST, Koforidua Technical University and UHAS, among others.

Following this outstanding performance, the victorious team and some student executives visited the Vice-Chancellor of KsTU, Prof. Gabriel Dwomoh, to present their award and share their experience. Prof. Dwomoh congratulated the team wholeheartedly and commended their coaches and faculty staff for their dedication and support.
“This is a huge win not just for the Faculty of Health Sciences, but for the entire university community,” he stated. “You have made KsTU proud on a national platform, and we will continue to support your growth and excellence.”
To show appreciation for their hard work, the Vice-Chancellor announced that the university will absorb the tuition fees of all team members. FG-MELSA, the Federation of Ghana Medical Laboratory Students’ Associations, represents medical laboratory students from various universities and institutions across Ghana. The association is dedicated to promoting professional development, academic collaboration, and a unified voice for students in the field.

This victory is a testament to the caliber of students at KsTU and the commitment of its faculty to excellence in education.
