KsTU Management Pays Homage to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II During 6th Awukudae Festival

The management of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU), led by the Chancellor, Dr. Kwame Addo-Kufuor, together with members of the University Council, paid a courtesy call on Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, as part of activities marking the sixth Awukudae Festival at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.

The visit afforded the KsTU delegation the opportunity to pay homage to His Majesty, seek his blessings, and reaffirm the University’s deep respect for the rich traditions, culture, and heritage of Asanteman. It also formed part of ongoing efforts by the University to strengthen the long-standing relationship between KsTU and the Manhyia Palace, while fostering partnerships with traditional authorities in support of educational advancement and broader societal development.

Speaking during the engagement, the University’s leadership expressed profound appreciation to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for the warm reception accorded the delegation and for his continued goodwill and support for initiatives that promote education, innovation and national development. The occasion underscored the vital role traditional institutions continue to play in advancing tertiary education and contributing to the progress of the Ashanti Region and Ghana as a whole.

The sixth Awukudae Festival, a significant event on the Asante traditional calendar, brought together chiefs, dignitaries, institutions, and members of the public to celebrate the culture, heritage, unity and enduring values of Asanteman.

Through the visit, KsTU reaffirmed its commitment to deepening collaboration with traditional leadership and other key stakeholders in pursuit of academic excellence and sustainable development.
