Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) has strengthened its international academic and research partnership with the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE) in Germany following a preparatory and cooperation visit by the University’s Vice Dean of the Graduate School, Engr. Surv. Prof. Sarfo Mensah.
The one-month visit which took place from September through to October 2026 in Eberswalde, Germany, was facilitated through the DAAD Global Research Opportunities for the South (GROW) Scholarship programme.
During the visit, Prof. Mensah was hosted by Prof. Dr. Tobias Cremer, Chair of Forest Utilization and Timber Markets at HNEE. The engagement focused on developing a Socio-Technical Framework for enhancing sustainability on the campuses of Ghanaian Technical Universities.

The research initiative seeks to explore approaches to improving campus sustainability through the integration of social and technical considerations, while creating opportunities for knowledge exchange and collaborative research between the two institutions.
The visit marks another significant step in the longstanding relationship between KsTU and HNEE, providing a foundation for deeper institutional cooperation and the development of a joint sustainability agenda.
It also creates opportunities for both universities to pursue shared academic and research objectives, strengthen international knowledge transfer and contribute to global efforts towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through authoritative collaboration.
