Outstanding Achievement in Internal Audit: Mr. Kwame Boakye Dapaah Named Best Internal Auditor

Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) marked a special occasion as the Director of the Internal Audit Directorate, Mr. Edward Ansah, introduced the second edition of the Internal Audit Directorate Award Scheme. Designed to serve as a powerful source of motivation, the award scheme recognizes outstanding performance and dedication among members of the Directorate.

Mr. Kwame Boakye Dapaah, a chief auditing assistant emerged as the well-deserved recipient of the prestigious "Overall Best Internal Auditor" title for the year 2022. Throughout the year, Mr. Dapaah showcased unwavering commitment and dedication in his role, diligently supervising the pre-audit of payments and conducting periodic audits with unmatched efficiency. Moreover, he proved himself invaluable by willingly taking on additional responsibilities assigned to him by his superiors. 

The award presentation ceremony, graced by the Vice-Chancellor, Ing. Prof. Osei-Wusu Achaw, and his management team, was a true celebration of merit and hard work. The Vice-Chancellor, in his speech, urged all staff members present to draw inspiration from Mr. Dapaah's exemplary performance, emphasizing that dedication and hard work would undoubtedly be recognized and appreciated within the university community.

The Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Gabriel Dwomoh, echoed similar sentiments, praising the practice of awarding deserving employees for their exceptional contributions. He highlighted the significance of such recognition as a powerful tool for motivating the entire workforce to strive for excellence in their respective roles.

In his heartfelt response, Mr. Kwame Boakye Dapaah expressed his gratitude to the Director of the Internal Audit Directorate, Mr. Edward Ansah, and the Senior Management for the esteemed honour bestowed upon him. He humbly acknowledged that his success was not an individual achievement but a result of the collective efforts of his dedicated team at the Internal Audit Directorate. 

Mr. Dapaah firmly believed that the recognition and encouragement from this award would inspire him to reach even greater heights in his professional journey. As he looked forward to the future, he expressed optimism about the prospects of the Internal Audit Directorate, envisioning a promising path of progress and continuous improvement.

The award ceremony concluded with a moment of pride and distinction as Mr. Dapaah was presented with a full piece of Kente cloth, symbolizing the rich cultural heritage of Ghana, along with a well-deserved citation honouring his exceptional contributions.

This celebration of excellence in the Internal Audit Directorate not only reinforces the significance of hard work and dedication within KsTU but also underscores the institution's commitment to recognizing and fostering a culture of merit, innovation, and growth.

About KsTU

Kumasi Technical University was established in 1954 as Kumasi Technical Institute (K. T. I. ) to offer craft courses. In 1963, the Institute was converted to a non-tertiary Polytechnic status under the Ghana Education Service to start offering, in addition, technician diploma and sub- professional courses.
