USA-Based Mathematics Scholar Donates Books to KsTU

Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) has received a significant academic boost following the donation of a collection of Applied and Pure Mathematics books from Professor Anthony Aidoo, a renowned USA-based Mathematics scholar. The presentation took place on Monday, August 4, 2025, and was facilitated through Dr. Isaac Kwasi Adu, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematical Sciences.

The donated books, which span a wide range of topics in mathematics and related fields, include Textbooks on Mathematical Sciences, Textbooks on Computer Science, Bulletin of Mathematical Biology, American Mathematical Journals, Siam Review, and the CRC Concise Encyclopedia of Mathematics.

Presenting the books on behalf of Prof. Aidoo, Prof. Abdul-Aziz Abdul-Rahaman, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology, noted the donor’s commitment to supporting higher education and research.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the University, Vice-Chancellor Professor Gabriel Dwomoh expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, describing it as a timely contribution that will greatly enrich the institution’s teaching and learning resources. He added that the books will serve as valuable references for both faculty and students, support research, and inspire academic excellence, particularly in the field of Applied Mathematics.

“This donation will enhance the quality of education and scholarship within the Mathematical Sciences Department,” Prof. Dwomoh stated.

KsTU continues to attract support from individuals and institutions committed to advancing academic excellence, with this latest contribution further strengthening its resources for innovation and research in the sciences.

Kumasi Technical University was established in 1954 as Kumasi Technical Institute (K. T. I. ) to offer craft courses. In 1963, the Institute was converted to a non-tertiary Polytechnic status under the Ghana Education Service to start offering, in addition, technician diploma and sub- professional courses.
