KsTU Inaugurates Industry Advisory Board for Banking and Finance as Well as Fashion Design & Textiles Studies Departments

The Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) has inaugurated two Faculty Advisory Boards for the Banking and Finance as well as Fashion Design and Textiles Studies departments to provide valuable guidance and advisory support to their students and the faculty to advance the vision of the University.

According to Dr. Mrs. Gladys Tuo who is the Deputy Director of International Affairs and Institutional Linkages of KsTU (IAIL-KsTU) disclosed that the idea of forming a board is being spearheaded by the British Council to bridge the gap between academia and industry. The Inauguration is part of the requirement by the British Council in collaboration with Southwest College International (UK) Mentorship through Partnership Programme with KsTU.

The rationale behind the project is to help the University design and develop the skills of students in these departments. The platform will help offer internships and offer future employment to students studying Banking and Finance as well as Fashion Design and help them foster long-term relationship with the industry.

Membership of the Industry Advisory Board of both departments was selected from the academia and industry. The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Ing. Professor Osei-Wusu Achaw, in his speech charged members of the two boards to work as a team to deliver on their mandate.
