KsTU Hosts Send-Off Ceremony for INP-HB Students After English Language Immersion Programme
On August 12, 2025, Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) held a colourful send-off ceremony in honour of a delegation from the Institut National Polytechnique Félix Houphouët-Boigny (INP-HB), Côte d'Ivoire. The event, held at the University’s Council Chamber, marked the conclusion of a week-long English Language Immersion Programme designed to enhance the communication skills of students from French-speaking countries.
The ceremony was led by the Pro Vice-Chancellor of KsTU, Ing. Prof. Abena Obiri Yeboah and attended by the Dean of International Affairs, Prof. Sarfo Mensah, alongside other faculty members and staff who supported the programme.
In her opening remarks, Prof. Obiri Yeboah congratulated the visiting students for their commitment and active participation. She further encouraged them to consider pursuing advanced studies at KsTU, noting that the University’s doors remain open to international students seeking a diverse and supportive learning environment.
Speaking on behalf of the INP-HB delegation, Dr. Kramo expressed sincere appreciation to the management and staff of KsTU for their warm reception and hospitality. He commended the programme’s structure, which provided the students with both academic instruction and cultural exposure.
One of the visiting students, Konan Aya Esther, also shared her reflections on behalf of her colleagues. She expressed gratitude to the lecturers and staff for their dedication and support throughout the programme. Beyond the classroom, she highlighted the enriching experiences the group gained through visits to tourist sites in Kumasi and the opportunity to enjoy traditional Ghanaian dishes.
Closing the ceremony, Mr. Joseph Boakye from the Department of Liberal Studies advised the students to continue practicing their English beyond the programme. He emphasised the role of English as a global language and a tool that would open doors to greater opportunities in their academic and professional journeys.
The week-long programme once again underscored KsTU’s commitment to fostering cross-cultural exchange and strengthening international partnerships. Through initiatives such as this, the University continues to position itself as a hub of global learning and cultural integration.
