Renowned Broadcast Journalist Kwami Sefa-Kayi Explores Synergies With KsTU Leadership in Groundbreaking Visit

A momentous occasion unfolded at Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) as the institution played host to none other than the distinguished broadcast journalist, Mr. Kwami Sefa-Kayi. This courtesy visit, held in the council chamber on Friday, September 9th, 2023, served to deepen the University's connection with an illustrious figure in the field of journalism.

Mr. Sefa-Kayi, celebrated for his unwavering support for the CTVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) agenda and his dedicated advocacy for technical education, was warmly received by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Gabriel Dwomoh. It was an opportune moment for the Vice-Chancellor to express heartfelt gratitude to the renowned journalist for his continuous backing of CTVET initiatives and the broader cause of technical education. 

This visit was far more than a formality; it provided a unique opportunity for Mr. Sefa-Kayi to gain profound insights into KsTU's academic and research pursuits. It was an occasion for him to grasp the University's pivotal role in advancing education, innovation, and technical know-how. As the discussions unfolded, the council chamber buzzed with engaging conversations and the exchange of ideas between the accomplished journalist and the University's leadership.

The Registrar, Mr. Kofi Boakye, added his presence to the gathering, further highlighting the importance of this visit. This visit was facilitated by the Director of the Institute of Research, Innovation and Development (IRID), Prof. Smart Sarpong, and his dedicated team.

About KsTU

Kumasi Technical University was established in 1954 as Kumasi Technical Institute (K. T. I. ) to offer craft courses. In 1963, the Institute was converted to a non-tertiary Polytechnic status under the Ghana Education Service to start offering, in addition, technician diploma and sub- professional courses.
