KsTU Erasmus+ Scholarships Propel Students to International Excellence in Turkey And Germany

Kumasi Technical University continues to make strides towards its vision of becoming a world-class institution, as six outstanding students have been selected to embark on a transformative journey to study at Sivas Cumhuriyet University, Turkey, and Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development, Germany. These exceptional students were chosen through a highly competitive application process to receive scholarships that will support their academic pursuits abroad for a five-month period.

The selected students, hailing from diverse academic backgrounds, exemplify the commitment to excellence that Kumasi Technical University strives to instill in its students. They will have the opportunity to further their education and expand their horizons on foreign soil, contributing to the university's global reputation for producing top-tier graduates. 

The students chosen to study in Turkey are:

  1. Manu Margaret Sarfowah pursuing a BTech in Secretaryship and Management Studies.
  2. Nkansah John Gyekye studying BTech Banking and Finance.
  3. Hannah Oduro Oforiwaa offering BTech Pharmaceutical Sciences.
  4. Okyere Jonathan also studying BTech Pharmaceutical Sciences is set to join them at Sivas Cumhuriyet University.

On the other side of the globe, two students will represent Kumasi Technical University in Germany:

  1. Emmanuel Donkor pursuing on an MTech in Construction Technology.
  2. Edmond Boateng Agyei pursuing an MTech in Chemical Engineering at Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development.

Professor Sarfo Mensah, the Director for the Office of International Affairs and Institutional Linkages at Kumasi Technical University, emphasized the rigorous selection process that led to the awarding of these prestigious scholarships. He highlighted that these scholarships are a testament to the university's commitment to fostering global connections and providing its students with unparalleled opportunities. 

During a heartfelt address, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gabriel Dwomoh, charged the awardees with the responsibility of becoming ambassadors of the university. He urged them to uphold the high personal and academic standards they have learned during their time at the institution and to maintain regular contact with the Director of International Affairs. Professor Dwomoh also expressed his gratitude to the Office of International Affairs and Institutional Linkages for orchestrating the success of this remarkable program.

About KsTU

Kumasi Technical University was established in 1954 as Kumasi Technical Institute (K. T. I. ) to offer craft courses. In 1963, the Institute was converted to a non-tertiary Polytechnic status under the Ghana Education Service to start offering, in addition, technician diploma and sub- professional courses.
