KsTU Inaugurates Scholarship and Bursary Board

The Vice-Chancellor of the Kumasi Technical University has inaugurated the Scholarship and Bursary Board on the 18th of February 2021. Inaugurating the Board, the Vice-Chancellor, Ing. Prof. Osei-Wusu Achaw, noted that Management of the University was aware of the difficulties some students in the University were facing in terms of getting financial support to complete their studies and therefore, the Institution gives a lot of support to needy students. This Board is instituted to offer scholarships to such needy but brilliant students. Sport personalities who have distinguished themselves in their various fields are also supported. The Vice-Chancellor noted that a scholarship programme has also been instituted for ladies in TVET and STEM programmes.

Support will also be extended to communities that KsTU has commitments to especially, Adako Jachie, Asem and Amakom. Touching on activities of the Board, the VC further noted that KsTU also supports the Otumfour Educational fund. "The Board has been put together to oversee how the above scholarships would be operationalised" he said. On the sources of funding for the Board's activities, the VC noted that the University contributed the initial funding while SRC also supported with some amount of money. Therefore, it should be one of the objectives of the Board to raise funds to support its operations. Picture: The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Owusu-Achaw addressing the Board.
