Newly Constructed Police Post Commissioned at the Main Campus of KsTU
In a significant milestone towards improving security, Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) has commissioned a new police post at its main campus. The ceremony, held on Friday 15th November 2024, marked the culmination of collaborative efforts from the University, its stakeholders, and other external contributors.
The police post is strategically positioned to bolster safety for students, staff, and other people within the community. The facility includes essential areas such as a holding cell, a station office, and washrooms, making it a fully functional facility.

The Vice-Chancellor of KsTU, Prof. Gabriel Dwomoh, officially commissioned the facility. In his address, Prof. Dwomoh highlighted the absence of a police post along the Asem stretch, which according to him, had previously left the area a bit unsafe.
“As a university, the security and welfare of every member of our staff and students across our campuses is paramount,” he stated. Prof. Dwomoh further noted that the establishment of the police post is part of the University's vision to deter miscreants and prevent criminal activities such as theft and robbery in and around the campus.
The Vice-Chancellor also said that the facility will also cater for the broader security needs of the local community. He extended his heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders whose contributions and support brought the project to fruition.
The brief ceremony was graced by members of the University Management, Deans of faculties and representatives of those external organisations that contributed to the project. Their presence underscored the collaborative effort that made the police post a reality.
The police post represents a significant step in ensuring a safer environment for academic and extracurricular activities. By providing a dedicated space for law enforcement operations, KsTU has reaffirmed its commitment to the well-being of its community.
