Staff from KsTU Participate in Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Programme in Turkey

As part of Kumasi Technical University’s (KsTU’s) existing initiatives which underscore the University's commitment to foster global partnerships and enhance professional development opportunities for its staff, several of its members of staff recently embarked on a transformative journey to Turkey. This was part of the prestigious Erasmus+ Staff Mobility programme. 

The participating staff members were selected to visit various institutions under the Erasmus+ programme which includes staff and student exchange. The institutions include Çankırı Karatekin Üniversitesi, Sivas Cumhuriyet University, Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University (TOGÜ) and Afyon Kocatepe Üniversitesi. The programme, involving several renowned Turkish universities provided an enriching platform for academic exchange and skill development among international peers.

At Çankırı Karatekin Üniversitesi, Mr. Foster Owusu and Mr. Joseph Assan Sackey engaged in rigorous training on non-teaching and teaching programmes tailored to enhance their professional competencies. Similarly, colleagues such as Mr. Akwasi Sarfo Agyemang, Isaac Owusu Ansah, Daniel Kombat, Dr. Bismark Parker, Surv. Prof. Engr Collins Ameyaw, Sylvester Agyen and Dr. Elijah Boadu Frimpong participated in the immersive experiences at Sivas Cumhuriyet University. To enrich their academic portfolios, Ing. Prof. Prince Owusu Ansah, Ing. Dr. Adam Misbawu and Dr. Francis Donkor represented KsTU at Afyon Kocatepe Üniversitesi, while Dr. George Kyei and Mr. Babamu Osman Halidu contributed their expertise to the activities at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University (TOGÜ).

The programme fostered international connections and equipped participants with diverse perspectives and enhanced skill sets for improved performance at home. Following the successful completion of the programme, all participating staff have returned safely and are eager to share their invaluable experiences and insights across various departments and faculties at KsTU.

About KsTU

Kumasi Technical University was established in 1954 as Kumasi Technical Institute (K. T. I. ) to offer craft courses. In 1963, the Institute was converted to a non-tertiary Polytechnic status under the Ghana Education Service to start offering, in addition, technician diploma and sub- professional courses.
