Mr. Ebenezer Kofi Boakye Reappointed as Registrar
It is said that “every good turn deserves another”. This is certainly the case with Kumasi Techical University (KsTU) regarding the reappointment of the Institution’s Registrar, Mr. Ebenezer Kofi Boakye whose appointment came to an end on 31st August 2023.
Mr. Boakye’s hard work endeared him to all staff of the University and anyone who had an encounter with him. As a result of this dint of hard work and apparent demonstration of professionalism, the Governing Council of the University reappointed him as Registrar of the University for another term with effect from 1st September, 2023.
Mr. Ebenezer Kofi Boakye is a married man born on 16th September 1966. He is a product of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) after completing his Ordinary and Advanced levels of education as well as being trained as a teacher in Berekum Training College in 1989. He furthered his education at Leicester Business School, De Montfort University, Leicester, Leicester Business Academy and Loughborough University, Leicestershire all in the United Kingdom. He holds MSc. Strategic Public Management.
Mr. Boakye's connection with Kumasi Technical University dates back to November 1998 when he joined as the Acting Planning/Assistant Planning Officer. In the course of time, he rose through the ranks to become a Senior Assistant Planning Officer and acted as the Planning Officer for nine (9) years. His rich educational background and experience also made him a part-time instructor and lecturer at KsTU, formerly known as Kumasi Polytechnic. He extended his expertise to the United Kingdom, where he lectured Corporate Strategy at Leicester Business Academy for two (2) years.
As a result of his rich experiences, he has served on a number of Statutory, Administrative and Ad-hoc Committees as Consultant, Chairman, Member, Member/ Secretary or Secretary. He has also organised a number of retreats and workshops at Kumasi Technical University.
Before his reappointment as Registrar, Mr. Boakye served as the Head of the Planning Unit and held the position of Convocation Representative (Non-Teaching) on the Governing Council of the Institution. He was also the Coordinator of the Partnership for Applied Sciences (PASS) a Ghanaian/German Government sponsored programme and served as the Coordinator General for the Senior Members (Non-Teaching) Association of all Technical Universities and Polytechnics in Ghana. He was finally appointed the Registrar of the University between 2019 and 2023.
His international travels have taken him to a number of countries in Africa and Europe; and to the United States of America. Locally, he has travelled to every region of the Country.
Described as an affable and results-oriented individual, Mr. Ebenezer Kofi Boakye's reappointment as the Registrar is expected to provide continuity in leadership, and further enhancement to Kumasi Technical University's mission to provide high-quality education and contribute to the growth and development of its students and the community.
