KsTU Welcomes Delegation from Togo for Academic Partnership

Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) recently hosted a delegation from the Golfe 1 Municipality in Togo, led by the 1st Deputy Mayor of the Municipal Council, Mr. Boko Koffi Fofo. This visit marks the beginning of an exciting partnership aimed at exploring student exchange possibilities, KsTU's academic offerings, and the potential signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the future.
The rest of the Togolese delegation included, Mr. Doh Tevi (Environmental Counselor), Mr. Kpogo Elom (Director of Communication) and Mrs. Bruce Penina (Assistant to the Mayor). Accompanying the delegation were Mr. Francis Dwira Darko (the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly’s (KMA) Coordinating Director) as well as Hon. Patrick K. Frimpong (the Presiding Member, KMA) The visit was occasioned by the sister-city collaboration between KMA and Golfe 1 Municipality in Togo.
During a short but significant ceremony held at the Council Chamber of KsTU, the Vice-Chancellor of KsTU, Professor Gabriel Dwomoh, warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed his delight at the visit. He highlighted the University's ongoing collaborations with other French-speaking countries such as Burkina Faso, Cote D’Ivoire, among others. He pointed out that as KsTU has a successful language immersion programme, the proposed partnership with Golfe 1 Municipality promises to be more academically focused, offering broader opportunities for both institutions.
Professor Dwomoh emphasised that KsTU is committed to providing excellent opportunities through this partnership. "This collaboration will extend beyond language immersion to encompass academic pursuits, fostering an environment of mutual growth and learning," he stated.
On his part, the Environmental Counselor Mr. Doh Tevi of Golfe 1 Municipality, expressed his enthusiasm for the potential agreement. He underscored that this partnership would enable both institutions to address educational issues collaboratively, paving the way for significant advancements in academic and cultural exchange.
The visit concluded with a shared vision of future cooperation, aimed at enhancing educational experiences and fostering stronger ties between Kumasi Technical University and Golfe 1 Municipality. Both parties look forward to the promising prospects that this partnership holds.
This visit signifies a pivotal step towards a mutually beneficial relationship that will undoubtedly strengthen the relationship between KsTU and other institutions outside Ghana.
