A modern police station to promote security for students of Kumasi Technical University has been commissioned at its Adako Jachie campus. The police station was built by the University as part of its corporate social responsibility to collaborate with the security agencies, especially the Ghana Police Service, to promote security at the University and its surrounding communities.

Speaking at the commissioning, Ing. Prof. Osei-Wusu Achaw, Vice-Chancellor of KsTU said the security and welfare of staff and students are considered paramount by the University, Therefore, to ensure effective security and policing, the Management of the University agreed with the Student Representative Council (SRC) to build the station at Adako Jachie to beef up security in and around the campus. Prof. Wusu Achaw hinted that to ensure effective patrol and policing, the University would also provide some assistance to the police to facilitate their service to the community.

The Deputy Ashanti Regional Commander of the Ghana Police Service, DCOP Mr. Kwasi Akomeah-Apraku said, there was a need for support and cooperation from the people in the community to flush out criminals. He called on the Management of the University and the Adako Jachie community not to ignore security measures to ensure the safety of the students. Residents and hostel operators in the community were asked not to ignore security measures and should try to provide cameras at the vantage points if possible to ensure effective security at the hostels. He lauded the efforts of the University to promote security and free movement of students in the community. 

He appealed to the University and the Chief of Adako Jachie to provide accommodation for his men for effective policing within the community. 

Nana Kwadwo Bosompem III Chief of Adako Jachie, who chaired the ceremony, expressed his commitment and support to any action aimed at promoting security in the area. He was grateful to the University for the nice gesture and appealed to the Member of Parliament for Ejisu Constituency Hon. Dr. John A. Kumah Esq. and his MCE to fix the road linking the campus to the main Accra-Kumasi highway.
