The Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, H.E George Ayisi-Boateng affectionately called “Onipa Nua” has paid a courtesy call to the Vice-Chancellor of the Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) Ing. Professor Nana Osei-Wusu Achaw.

The essence of the call was to interact with the Chief Executive Officer of the University to know the current situation on the ground at Kumasi Technical University and also find out the possible ways of linking KsTU to other institutions in South Africa for possible collaboration. He commended the Vice-Chancellor and his team for their exemplary leadership so far and more importantly, how they have managed the affairs of the University when the Corona virus pandemic was seriously raging globally in general, and Ghana in particular.

He recounted the various contributions of Kumasi Technical University when the COVID-19 was at its peak in Ghana. He mentioned the Institution’s manufacturing and distribution of hand sanitizers and educational materials free of charge, manufacturing of the foot- operated hand washing machine and its subsequent distribution to some key institutions in the Ashanti region including the Regional Command of Ghana Police Service and Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA).

He said even though he is posted to South Africa, he has been following the exploits of the University and how the Institution is contributing to national development. He was full of praise for the Vice-Chancellor and his team for the new direction of the University.

The Vice-Chancellor on his part thanked the High Commissioner for calling on him and his team. He intimated that the University is determined to become a world-class institution. He said this has positively affected the way things are conducted in the University.
