KsTU Bids Farewell to Students from Institute National Polytechnique After Successful Cultural Exchange Programme

Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) recently played host to students from Institut National Politechnique-Félix Houphouët-Boigny (INPHB), Cote d'Ivoire, as part of a 10-day language and cultural immersion programme. The visit culminated in a heartfelt farewell ceremony held on Friday, January 26, 2024, at the Council Chamber of Kumasi Technical University.
The farewell ceremony was a moment, marking the conclusion of a transformative experience for the INPHB students who immersed themselves in the rich Ghanaian culture, participated in various activities, interacted with KsTU students and staff, and gained valuable insights into Ghanaian life.
The farewell ceremony, held at the KsTU Council Chamber, was presided over by the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Ing. Prof. Abena Obiri-Yeboah. She commended the INPHB students for their active participation and highlighted the importance of such programmes in fostering international understanding and collaboration.
As a token of appreciation and a symbol of their successful completion of the programme, each INPHB student was presented with a certificate during the farewell ceremony. The certificates serve as a testament to their commitment to cross-cultural learning and their participation in the vibrant academic community at Kumasi Technical University.
During the ceremony, the Pro Vice-Chancellor of KsTU, Ing. Prof. Abena Obiri-Yeboah on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, expressed her best wishes to the departing students, emphasising that the English language proficiency they acquired during their stay should not be seen as an end but rather, a means to greater heights. Prof. Obiri-Yeboah urged the students to channel their new found linguistic skills towards achieving prominence in Cote d'Ivoire.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor's motivational words resonated with the departing students, who were visibly touched by the warm reception they received during their stay at KsTU.
The supervisor from Institut National Polytechnique, expressed gratitude for the courtesies extended to them by Kumasi Technical University. He acknowledged the efforts by the instructors, noting the tangible improvement in the English language skills of the students.
The farewell ceremony was orchestrated by the Registrar Mr. Ebenezer Kofi Boakye and the staff of the International Affairs Office of Kumasi Technical University.
This cultural exchange programme exemplifies KsTU's commitment to providing students with diverse and enriching educational experiences. It paves the way for future collaborations and fosters international understanding through cultural immersion and academic exchange.
