Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) is proud to announce that Josh Asenso Menso, a third-year student in the Department of Automotive and Agro-Mechanization, has been selected to represent Ghana in the WorldSkills Lyon competition. Josh is among four exceptional individuals chosen from Ghana to compete in the Mechanical Engineering CAD category, an area that showcases advanced skills in computer-aided design for automotive engineering. The competition will take place in Paris, where he will compete against participants from around 62 countries.

In preparation for this prestigious event, Josh paid a courtesy call on the Management of KsTU, who offered their full support and encouragement. During the meeting, Dr. Timothy Crentsil, the WorldSkills coordinator, briefed senior members on the competition and the upcoming trip to France. He highlighted the significance of the event, emphasizing the rigorous training and zonal competitions that led to Josh's selection.

Josh expressed his gratitude for the support and mentioned the instrumental role one of his lecturers played in preparing him for the competition. He noted that the training he received was crucial in honing his skills and boosting his confidence ahead of the global challenge.

Ing. Prof. Abena Agyeiwaa Obiri-Yeboah, the Pro Vice-Chancellor of KsTU, commended Josh for his achievement and encouraged him to make KsTU proud on the international stage. She urged him not to be discouraged by the competition from other countries, acknowledging the challenges Ghana faces with limited resources. However, she expressed her confidence that Josh would return with greater experience and insights. She also encouraged him to explore the city of Paris, enjoy the trip, and most importantly, to network with participants from other countries.

"Go out of your way to speak and connect with them; don’t forget to make friends as you embark on this journey," she advised.

Mrs. Mary Safowaa Akom, Head of Human Resources at KsTU, also offered her words of encouragement, urging Josh to represent KsTU with pride and to give his best in the competition.
