KsTU and Lagos State University of Science and Technology Forge Closer Ties through New MoU

In a significant move towards academic collaboration and knowledge exchange, Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) and Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This landmark agreement, inked on Friday, December 15, 2023, paves the way for a thriving partnership in areas spanning student and staff exchange programs, joint research projects, curriculum development, and broader academic cooperation.

The signing ceremony, held at the Council Chamber of KsTU under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Professor Gabriel Dwomoh, pulsated with an atmosphere of shared ambition and mutual respect. Prof. Dwomoh, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, emphasising its potential for shared growth and the importance of learning from each other’s experiences. He sees this partnership as a crucial step towards enriching the academic landscape of both institutions through the exchange of ideas and expertise.

Professor Olumuyiwa Odusanya, Vice-Chancellor of LASUSTECH, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and highlighting the importance of seizing opportunities for impactful collaboration. He championed the need for moving beyond mere formalities and translating the MoU into tangible outcomes that resonate with both institutions and their communities.

The ceremony brought together various deans who actively participated in fruitful discussions exploring potential collaborative avenues. This proactive engagement bodes well for the future of the partnership, promising not only a well-defined framework for cooperation but also an energetic spirit of exchange and mutual learning.

With this MoU in place, KsTU and LASUSTECH can now embark on a journey of shared academic discovery, enriching the educational landscape of both Ghana and Nigeria, and demonstrating the transformative power of international collaboration. About KsTU

Kumasi Technical University was established in 1954 as Kumasi Technical Institute (K. T. I. ) to offer craft courses. In 1963, the Institute was converted to a non-tertiary Polytechnic status under the Ghana Education Service to start offering, in addition, technician diploma and sub- professional courses.
