HOSTEL BOOKING NOTICE: 2026/2027 ACADEMIC YEAR

For first-year students and parents/guardians

 

Kumasi Technical University informs first-year students and their parents/guardians that the hostel booking portal will open as scheduled below. Students should confirm their campus and hostel eligibility before booking.

 

1. PORTAL OPENING DATES

Tuesday, 13 October 2026
10:00 GMT

GETFund Hall, Adako Jachie Campus only. Do not book here unless your programme is based at Adako Jachie.

Thursday, 15 October 2026
10:00 GMT

All other halls and hostels open for booking.

 

2. REQUIREMENTS BEFORE BOOKING

  1. Pay at least 60% of your school fees; otherwise, you cannot book a room.

  2. Check that the hall serves the campus where your programme is taught.

  3. Choose carefully: each student has only one booking opportunity, and a booked hall cannot be changed.

 

3. CAMPUS AND HALL ELIGIBILITY

Adako Jachie Campus

Halls: SRC Hall and GETFund Hall (both accommodate male and female students). Only the following programmes are eligible:

Faculty of Built and Natural Environment

  1. Interior Design Technology (HND, BTech)

  2. Estate Management (Diploma, HND, BTech, BSc)

  3. Building Technology (Diploma, HND, BTech, BSc)

  4. Architectural Technology (Diploma, HND, BTech, BSc)

Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development

  1. Agribusiness (Diploma, HND, BTech, BSc)

  2. Entrepreneurship and Finance (Diploma, HND, BTech, BSc)

Faculty of Creative Arts and Technology

  1. Fashion Design and Textiles Studies (Diploma, HND, BTech, BSc)

  2. Graphic Design (HND, BTech, BSc)

  3. Communication Design (HND, BTech, BSc)

 

Main Campus: Amakom

All other programmes are based at the Main Campus. Eligible halls are Ashanti Hall (male), Liberty Hall (male) and PatCarless Hall (female).

 

4. BOOKING, PAYMENT AND CONFIRMATION

  1. Book carefully. Confirm your preferred hall before submitting. Hall changes are not permitted once a room is booked.

  2. Keep your booking reference. After booking, save or print the reference immediately. It contains the payment code, which is also sent to your phone, and is required for payment and hostel registration.

  3. Pay within 24 hours. Pay the applicable hostel fee within 24 hours of booking. Your status remains pending until payment is completed. Once the code expires, the room is forfeited and you cannot book another room.

  4. Confirm allocation. Log back into the portal after payment to verify that payment has been processed and the room is allocated in your name. You should also receive a confirmation message on your phone.

 

5. AUTHORISED PAYMENT OUTLETS

Payment may be made only at: Prudential Bank; Consolidated Bank Ghana Ltd; or the University Cash Office at the Amakom/Asem or Adako Jachie Campus.

 

IMPORTANT: Booking is a one-time opportunity. Verify your campus, faculty, programme and hall before submission. A hall cannot be changed after booking, and a cancelled or expired booking cannot be restored.

About KsTU

Kumasi Technical University was established in 1954 as Kumasi Technical Institute (K. T. I. ) to offer craft courses. In 1963, the Institute was converted to a non-tertiary Polytechnic status under the Ghana Education Service to start offering, in addition, technician diploma and sub- professional courses.
