GRASAG–KsTU Constitutes Interim Executives at Handing Over Ceremony

The Graduate Students’ Association of Ghana – Kumasi Technical University (GRASAG–KsTU) interim executives to oversee the affairs of the association during a transitional period.

The constitution of the interim leadership took place during a handing over ceremony held at the JICA Centre of Kumasi Technical University, where members of the University community, graduate students, and invited guests gathered to witness the formal transfer of leadership from the outgoing executives to the newly constituted interim team.

The event also served as an opportunity to recognise the contributions of the outgoing GRASAG–KsTU leadership for their dedicated service to the graduate student community. The outgoing executives were honoured with citations and special presentations in appreciation of their commitment, advocacy, and leadership during their tenure. The recognition highlighted their efforts in advancing the interests of graduate students and strengthening the activities of the association within the University.

During the event, the newly constituted interim executives formally assumed office following the handing over of documents and symbols of authority by the outgoing administration. The interim leadership is headed by Mr. Eric Kwabena Ameyaw, who serves as Interim President, with Mr. Samuel Ofori Konadu as Interim General Secretary and Mr. Ibrahim Abubakari as Interim Financial Secretary.

In his acceptance speech, Interim President Eric Kwabena Ameyaw expressed gratitude to the outgoing executives for their dedication and contributions to the association. He noted that the Interim Executives assumes office with a deep sense of responsibility and will work to maintain stability and continuity in the affairs of GRASAG–KsTU while safeguarding the achievements and ongoing initiatives of the previous administration.

He further assured graduate students that the committee would work closely with the relevant University authorities to ensure that the association continues to function effectively and in accordance with the statutes of Kumasi Technical University.

Addressing the gathering, the Dean of Students, Prof. Kessels Dadzie, commended the newly constituted committee and encouraged its members to promote unity and calm within the graduate student community while diligently carrying out their responsibilities.

Representing the Registrar, Dr. Jenkins Asaah assured members that concerns raised through petitions would be addressed and that a report on the matters would be made available in due course. He also urged the Interim Management Committee to work collaboratively to ensure the continued strength and relevance of GRASAG–KsTU within the University community.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks, group photographs, and a networking session among participants, marking a significant moment in the transition of leadership within GRASAG–KsTU.

About KsTU

Kumasi Technical University was established in 1954 as Kumasi Technical Institute (K. T. I. ) to offer craft courses. In 1963, the Institute was converted to a non-tertiary Polytechnic status under the Ghana Education Service to start offering, in addition, technician diploma and sub- professional courses.
