VICE-CHANCELLOR LEADS KsTU DELEGATION TO MOURN THE LATE ASANTEHEMAA, NANA KONADU YIADOM III
Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) joined the people of Asanteman on Monday, September 15, 2025, to observe Day One of the Dote Yie of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, at the Manhyia Palace, Kumasi.
KsTU was fully represented by a high-profile delegation led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gabriel Dwomoh; the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Ing. Prof. Mrs. Abena Agyeiwaa Obiri-Yeboah; and the Registrar, Mr. Ebenezer Kofi Boakye. The delegation paid homage to His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and commiserated with him and the entire Asanteman on the passing of the revered Queen Mother and Sister.
The funeral rites, known as Dɔte Yie, commenced on September 14, 2025, and are being observed with grandeur and cultural dignity. The ceremonies involve public viewing of the Queen Mother’s remains at the Manhyia Palace and will conclude with her final interment at the Bantama Royal Mausoleum on Thursday, September 18, 2025.
The solemn yet deeply traditional atmosphere reflected the rich cultural heritage of Asanteman, as mourners including Churches, the Clergy, Political parties, Educational Institutions, NGOs, Telecommunications Companies, Corporate Bodies, and the general public gathered in unity to celebrate the life and legacy of Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
Kumasi Technical University stands with Asanteman in honouring the life, legacy, and service of the late Asantehemaa, whose memory will forever remain a pillar of inspiration.
