Executives of Grasag-Kstu Hand Over to a New Team for 2023/2024 Academic Year
The Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) Chapter of the Graduate Students Association of Ghana (GRASAG) held a ceremony on Thursday, 23rd February 2024 at the JICA Centre to officially hand over to the newly-elected executives for the 2023/2024 academic year.
The outgoing president, Mr. Frank Ampofo, expressed his gratitude to GRASAG members for their unwavering support during his tenure. Despite the financial constraints, he and his team were commended for their dedicated service. Ampofo urged the incoming executives to be diligent, foster unity among members and actively contribute to improving the enrolment of Masters students.
Mr. Awal Mahama, the incoming president of the association expressed his commitment to building upon the strong foundation laid by the previous administration. In his inaugural speech, Mahama acknowledged the accomplishments of the outgoing executives and promised to work tirelessly to restore confidence and trust in the association. He emphasized his commitment to research clinics, workshops and engaging with the University’s Management to garner support for all the initiatives of GRASAG.
Special Guest for the occasion, Prof. Thomas Adomah Worae who is the Dean of Students, offered pieces of advice to the new executives, urging them to stand united and work collaboratively for the benefit of GRASAG. He emphasized the need to prioritize the growth of the association over individual interests.
The Dean of Graduate School, Prof. Roland Kabange, who chaired the ceremony commended GRASAG for conducting a peaceful election. He lauded the outgoing president, Mr. Frank Ampofo and his team for their commendable service despite financial challenges. Prof. Kabange extended gratitude to Ampofo for his outstanding contributions and encouraged the new executives to work hard, support the president and maintain the positive relationship established with the University’s Management.
Dr. Kwame Owusu-Sarpong, the Vice Dean of Graduate School administered the oath and oversaw the swearing-in of the newly elected executives, marking the official commencement of their roles.
The University community looks forward to the leadership of Mr. Awal Mahama and his team as they embark on their journey to uphold the values and goals of GRASAG at Kumasi Technical University.
