Management of KsTU partners with Suame Magazine Industry Development to enhance the automobile industry

The management of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) in the coming days will sign Memorandum of Understanding with Suame Magazine Industry Development Organisation (SMIDO) to enhance the automobile industry.

This was disclosed by the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of KsTU Dr. Prince Owusu Ansah during familiarization tour at the AVIC Engineering workshop at Adako Jachie to expose the institution modernised automotive machines and equipment to the mechanics. He mentioned that the mechanics and other artisans at Suame magazine are endowed with skills but they lack requisite equipment to facilitate their activities so such partnership will help both parties in a barter form.

He indicated that, if the move is materialised he is confident that importation of bolts and nuts and other spare parts will be curbed in the Country.

On his part Dr. Emmanuel Adu, Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering, explained how the machines are efficient in terms of production, so he is confident that this step that Management has taken is very laudable which will not only help the two parties but the country as whole.

He therefore pleaded with the Suame Magazine Industry Development Organisation to embrace the move to expedite their operations.
