The Launch of AVIC Engineering Workshop at KsTU (Adako Jachie Campus)

The AVIC Engineering Workshop was officially launched on the 12th April, 2022 at the Adako Jachie campus of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) by Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Minister of Education. The Workshop consists of sections including automotive and other Mechanical Engineering sections which is divided into welding and fabrication units.

Others include Civil Engineering as well as Electrical and Electronics Engineering sections. This project is a Ghana-China governments collaboration on upgrading and rehabilitation of Technical Universities and other Technical Institutes which will equip five (5) Technical Universities and ten (10) Technical Institutes with workshops, offices and laboratories. The project also provides Engineering laboratory equipment to ten (10) Technical Universities and thirteen (13) Technical Institutes. All the tools and equipment installed in the workshops are state-of-the-art and industry-standard equipment which will ensure that students who graduate from these institutions have industry-ready skills.

About KsTU

Kumasi Technical University was established in 1954 as Kumasi Technical Institute (K. T. I. ) to offer craft courses. In 1963, the Institute was converted to a non-tertiary Polytechnic status under the Ghana Education Service to start offering, in addition, technician diploma and sub- professional courses.
