Kumasi Technical University has introduced a new four-year Bachelor of Technology Programme in Accounting with Computing. The Programme has been designed generally to fulfil the objectives of government converting the Polytechnics to Technical University which is to give students hands on skills to enable them solve day to day accounting and finance problems in industry. Students will be equipped with various competencies in the areas of Database Management Systems, Network Technology, Business Information Systems Audit, Spread Sheet, Accounting Information Systems, Logic and Critical Thinking, Spreadsheet Design, Enterprise Resource Planning, etc. and this is expected to enable them develop basic business solutions for application in industry. Also, critically, as part of the collaboration with industry, students will also have the opportunity to be exposed to the world of work by having industrial attachment in relevant industry.

About KsTU

Kumasi Technical University was established in 1954 as Kumasi Technical Institute (K. T. I. ) to offer craft courses. In 1963, the Institute was converted to a non-tertiary Polytechnic status under the Ghana Education Service to start offering, in addition, technician diploma and sub- professional courses.
