Inauguration of The University Appeals Board

The Governing Council of Kumasi Technical University has in a colourful ceremony inaugurated the first ever University Appeals Board chaired by Lawyer Chris Adomako-Kwakye.

The five member board namely; Lawyer Chris Adomako-Kwakye (Chairman), Nana Yaa Asante Nnuro (Member), Rt. Rev Christopher Nyarko Andam (Member), Lawyer Samuel Aryeh (Member) and Dr. Mrs. Helena Hassan (Retired Librarian, KNUST) is an assemble of varied expertise aimed at ensuring qualitative representation on the Board.

The University Council Chairman (Prof. Dr. Ben Baffoe-Bonnie) in his address intimated that the formation of the Board is to strengthen the governance systems in the University and to ensure that grievances of staff and students are easily resolved. He further admonished the Board to work diligently without fear or favour.

In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the Board expressed their gratitude and also declared their readiness to work assiduously in order to ensure a harmonious working environment. The Board he opined would work in tandem with all the governing instruments of the University effectively and efficiently.

Kumasi Technical University was established in 1954 as Kumasi Technical Institute (K. T. I. ) to offer craft courses. In 1963, the Institute was converted to a non-tertiary Polytechnic status under the Ghana Education Service to start offering, in addition, technician diploma and sub- professional courses.
