Mr. Samuel Omari has been adjudged the Overall Best Graduating Student among all graduating students at the 24th Congregation Ceremony of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU), held at the New Great Hall.
The 24th Congregation brought together students who successfully completed their Master of Technology (MTech), Master of Engineering (MEng), Master of Science (MSc), Bachelor of Technology (BTech), and Diploma programmes. Emerging as the top-performing graduate across all these programmes, Mr. Omari distinguished himself with an outstanding Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.73, earning the highest academic honour of the graduating class.
His recognition reflects exceptional discipline, consistency, intellectual curiosity, and a strong commitment to academic excellence. His success in a cohort of graduates with Bachelor's, Higher National Diploma, and Diploma degrees highlights his commitment to the university's high academic standards.
Delivering his valedictory address, Mr. Omari reflected on a journey defined by resilience, faith, and perseverance. He recounted how financial difficulties after completing senior high school nearly disrupted his dream of higher education. However, the intervention of the Gold Fields Ghana Foundation Scholarship Scheme in 2022 provided the opportunity he needed to pursue his studies. Maintaining the scholarship required consistently high academic performance, a challenge he embraced with determination despite personal sacrifices and countless sleepless nights.
Drawing from his background in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mr. Omari likened life’s challenges to engineering circuits that require troubleshooting and innovation. “Failure isn’t the end; it’s a stepping stone to success,” he noted, encouraging fellow graduates to approach life with resilience and problem-solving skills.
Addressing his fellow graduates, he urged them to pursue their dreams courageously, manage their finances wisely, and prioritise skill development. “Your certificate is your foundation, but your skills are your wings,” he emphasized, reminding them that creativity, consistency, and problem-solving abilities are essential in today’s competitive world.
His achievement not only celebrates personal excellence but also reinforces Kumasi Technical University’s standing as a leading Technical University committed to innovation, research, and practical, industry-driven education.
The University community congratulates Mr. Samuel Omari on this remarkable accomplishment and wishes him continued success in his professional journey.
