The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) has donated a substantial number of furniture items to the University to support teaching and learning on campus.

The donation, which took place on Monday, February 16, 2026, comprised 290 single-unit tables, 25 dual-unit tables, and 340 chairs. The gesture forms part of the SRC’s commitment to improving infrastructure and enhancing the academic experience of students.

Presenting the items, the SRC led by Mr. Bright Ofori reaffirmed their dedication to addressing pressing student needs and contributing meaningfully to the development of the University. They noted that adequate furniture in lecture halls and study spaces plays a crucial role in promoting effective learning, comfort, and academic success.

The items were officially received on behalf of the University by the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Professor Peter Kessels Dadzie. He was joined by the former Dean of Students, Professor Adoma Worae, during the brief presentation ceremony.

Prof. Dadzie expressed the University Management’s appreciation to the SRC for the thoughtful intervention. He commended the student leadership for demonstrating responsibility and partnership in advancing the University’s mission. According to him, the donation will go a long way in easing furniture constraints in lecture rooms and improving the general learning environment for students.

The SRC delegation at the ceremony included the SRC President, SRC Vice President, SRC General Secretary, SRC Treasurer, SRC Welfare Officer, SRC Women’s Commissioner, the KsTU SRC Speaker of Parliament, the Presidential Envoy, the GNUTS Treasurer, as well as officials from the Dean of Students’ Affairs Office.

As KsTU continues to expand in student population and academic programmes, such partnerships remain vital in ensuring that infrastructure keeps pace with growth and that students are provided with a conducive environment for teaching, learning, and research.
