Strengthening Institutional Linkages, Management of KsTU pay a courtesy on AAMUSTED in Kumasi, Ghana

Management of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) led by the Vice-Chancellor, Ing. Prof. Osei-Wusu Achaw, paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), Prof. Frederick K. Sarfo and his Management on 28th February 2023 to foster collaborations between the two institutions.

Introducing the purpose of the visit, Prof. Osei-Wusu Achaw, in brief remarks indicated that KsTU looked forward to more collaborations with the University on mutually beneficial projects and was ready to collaborate with AAMUSTED and other Universities in the Ashanti Region to help contribute to the Development of Kumasi.

Prof. Frederick K. Sarfo warmly welcomed the delegation from KsTU and congratulated KsTU for being an outstanding Technical University.

Noting the long-standing relationship between the University and AAMUSTED, Prof. Sarfo underscored the importance of both parties supporting each other. “We are seeking to upscale our services for our students, improve our infrastructure so that we can deliver on our mandate, so we’ll need each other to build capacity and to be efficient and effective” the Vice-Chancellor of AAMUSTED stated. He further pledged to continue to sustain the existing flourishing relationship between KsTU and AAMUSTED.

The delegation from KsTU included Prof. Gabriel Dwomoh, the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Mr. James O. Brobbey; the Director of Finance, Prof. Sarfo Mensah, Director of the International Affairs and Institutional Linkages, Mr. Ebenezer Kofi Boakye, the Registrar, and Mad. Joyce Adu Amoah; Secretary to the VC.

Also present in the meeting were some senior management staff of AAMUSTED including Prof. Stephen Jobson Mitchual, Pro - VC; Mr. Augustus K. Brew, the Registrar; Dr. Jeff Boakye Danquah, Director of Finance and Mr. Michael K. Twum – Amponsah, Dir. University Relations Office. 

About KsTU

Kumasi Technical University was established in 1954 as Kumasi Technical Institute (K. T. I. ) to offer craft courses. In 1963, the Institute was converted to a non-tertiary Polytechnic status under the Ghana Education Service to start offering, in addition, technician diploma and sub- professional courses.
