Brief Programme Description 

The main aim of the programme is to train and produce graduates with requisite skills and competencies needed to become persons with requisite practical expertise in agribusiness to manage small Agri-SME enterprises or become intra-preneurs in agribusiness firms or institutions. This will be done through quality teaching, practical hands-on training, relevant academic and demand-driven research, and exposure to industry best practice.  

       

Admission Entry Requirements:

 

Applicants from all programmes or disciplines at the secondary level are eligible to apply. These include areas as General Science, General Agriculture, General Arts, Business, Home Economics, and Visual Arts 

Eligible candidates must possess one of the entry requirements below

SSSCE Candidates: Passes (A-D) in five (5) subjects comprising three core subjects, English Language, Integrated Science and Mathematics, plus two (2) elective subjects. 

WASSCE Candidates: Credit Passes (A1-D7) in five (5) subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language, Integrated Science and Mathematics, plus two (2) elective subjects. 

 

 

ADVANCED LEVEL CERTIFICATE (GCE ‘A’-LEVEL) Applicants: 

  1. Five (5) Credits (Grade 6) or better at the GCE ‘O’ Level, including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject (for non-science students) and an Arts subject (for science students). 

  2. Passes in two (2) ‘A’ Level subjects (at least, one of the passes should be grade D). 

 

Mature Applicants:  

  1. The basic requirement for admission is 5 credits at the GCE ‘O’-Level, including English and mathematics, or credit passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science, and three Elective subjects at the SSSCE/WASSCE level. 

  2. Candidates should be at least 25 years at the time of application. 

  3. Candidates must pass a qualifying examination conducted by the Institute which shall form the basis of a short-listing of candidates.

About KsTU

Kumasi Technical University was established in 1954 as Kumasi Technical Institute (K. T. I. ) to offer craft courses. In 1963, the Institute was converted to a non-tertiary Polytechnic status under the Ghana Education Service to start offering, in addition, technician diploma and sub- professional courses.
