The Human Resource Directorate of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) has organised a one-day training programme for Registry staff to equip them with modern administrative skills aimed at enhancing efficiency and service delivery. The training, which took place on Tuesday, 23rd September 2025 at the SRC Conference Room, forms part of the Directorate’s mandate to provide continuous professional development opportunities for staff in order to strengthen the human capital base of the University.

The Head of Human Resources, Mrs. Mary Sarfowaah Akom, opened the training with a presentation on inter-personal relationships at the workplace, emphasising the importance of teamwork, effective communication, and conflict management in fostering a harmonious and productive work environment. The Registrar of the University, Mr. Ebenezer Kofi Boakyetook participants through administrative writings, stressing the need for clarity, precision, and professionalism in official correspondence and documentation as a reflection of the high standards of the University.

In line with KsTU’s forward-looking vision, Prof. Kofi Agyarko Ababio, introduced participants to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in administrative writings. He demonstrated how AI can be ethically and efficiently integrated into tasks such as drafting, editing, and summarising, thereby boosting productivity and accuracy while aligning the University with current global trends in digital transformation.

The training session was highly interactive, with a question-and-answer session after each presentation, allowing participants to seek clarifications and share practical insights. The initiative was described as timely and transformative, as it not only strengthened the interpersonal and professional competencies of Registry staff but also exposed them to innovative digital tools necessary for modern administrative practice. By this effort, Kumasi Technical University continues to demonstrate its commitment to equipping its workforce with relevant skills to meet the evolving demands of higher education administration.
