In a historic achievement, Kumasi Technical University’s (KsTU's) all-female Women in Engineering (WinE) team has once again showcased their leadership and innovative prowess by winning the first position at the 3rd edition of the Wine Affair 2024. This victory, celebrated on October 25, 2024, marked the group’s second win in the competition, positioning KsTU as unique in the technical education space. After their victory, the WinE team returned to campus to present their trophy and plaques to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Gabriel Dwomoh, and the University Management in a celebratory event held in the University’s Council Chamber.
The competition-winning project, titled Agriply, was a standout feature of their presentation to the Vice-Chancellor. Prof. Gabriel Dwomoh commended the team for their outstanding performance and commitment. In recognition of their hard work, he announced that all the team members would receive full scholarships for their continued studies at KsTU. Additionally, for those in their final year or who have recently completed their degrees, Prof. Dwomoh announced scholarships for a Masters’ programme at KsTU, giving the graduates a pathway to further hone their skills within the University’s supportive environment.
