KSTU's New Security Initiatives Aim to Create a Safer Campus

Kumasi Technical University (KSTU) has taken a significant step towards enhancing security on campus. The university has inaugurated new security uniforms, a state-of-the-art security post, and a cutting-edge CCTV installation and monitoring room. With over 65 cameras installed across campus, KSTU is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its students, staff, and visitors.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Gabriel Dwomoh, led a delegation to inspect the new security uniforms and the state-of-the-art security post. On behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, he applauded the university for its commitment to enhancing security on campus. He also encouraged the security team to make effective use of the new resources and to remain vigilant at all times.
The Registrar, Mr. Ebenezer Kofi Boakye, also addressed the gathering. He emphasized the need for continuous vigilance and diligence, urging the security team not to become complacent with the new advancements. He said, "Anytime we receive new resources, we must remain focused and dedicated to our work. Let us respect our responsibilities and maintain the high standards we have set." He also extended his congratulations to the head of security for his exceptional leadership and dedication to the unit.

KsTU New Security

Prof. Alfred Owusu, Chairman of the Security Committee, shared valuable insights about the newly implemented sticker policy on staff vehicles. By displaying the appropriate stickers, staff members can enhance their own safety and facilitate smoother security operations. Additionally, he highlighted the positive impact of the security team checking student ID cards before entry, bringing about a sense of tranquillity and peace on campus.
At KsTU, we prioritise the well-being of our community and consistently strive for excellence in all aspects of campus life. The inauguration of these new security measures marks a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to create a safe and secure learning environment for everyone.
We encourage our students, staff, and visitors to report any suspicious activity to the security team immediately. We also encourage everyone to be aware of their surroundings and to take personal safety precautions at all times.
Together, we can create a safe and secure campus for everyone.
