
The University community is hereby informed that Academic Board at its 2023 4th Ordinary Meeting held on Thursday, 14th December, 2023 approved a proposal on the conduct of a well-structured mid-semester examinations. This is to help streamline the conduct of this examinations and more importantly, improve its quality assurance. The modalities are as follows:
PERIOD FOR THE EXAMINATION
- The Mid-Semester Examinations shall take place over a 9-day period on the Academic Calander (i.e. five (5) Weekdays and two (2) Weekends).
- The Mid-Semester Examinations are scheduled to take place between Saturday 9th March and Sunday 17th March, 2024.
- They shall be compulsory for all courses.
TIMETABLE
- The University Examinations Office shall release a structured Composite Timetable with venue allocation for the conduct of the exams.
- All venues designated for use in the end semester examinations shall be arranged for the Mid-Semester Examinations.
- Duration of each paper shall be expected to be at least 40 minutes but not exceeding 1 hour.
TIME SCHEDULES FOR THE EXAMINATION
There will be Four (4) sections per day for the Regular, Two (2) sections for the Evening and Three (3) sections for the weekend programmes with an hour in between for settlement of students and changeover of venue usage as indicated in the Table below:

STUDENT REGISTRATION
Only registered students shall be permitted to write the Mid-Semester Examination. No Registration, No Examination rule will be strictly enforced.
STUDENTS PLACEMENT AT THE VENUES
- Examination cards will be arranged to determine seating arrangements for students.
- Attendance sheets will also be prepared to ensure that only registered students participate in the examinations.
- Candidates must present their student Identity cards for inspection before entry to examination rooms.
- All Candidates who enter the examination rooms must be decently dressed. Caps/hats, bathroom slippers, tattered jeans, shorts, etc shall not be entertained.
- Candidates shall be properly seated at least thirty (30) minutes before the start of the session.
