i. Master of Engineering in Automotive Engineering (1 year)

Entry Requirements

First degree (BTech/BEng/BSc/Bed. etc) certificate with a minimum of Second Class (Lower) Division in a related engineering discipline such as automotive/automobile, mechanical, electrical, mechatronic, agricultural, aerospace, and marine. Working experience in the related field would be an advantage.

Candidates with “Pass” or “Third Class” must pass an interview session to be granted access to the programme.

Foreign applicants from accredited/recognised institutions would be considered for admission in consultation with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission for the determination of equivalences for qualifications 
 

ii. Master of Technology in Automotive Engineering (2 year)

Entry Requirements

a. Bachelors’ Degree (BSc/BTech/BEd) Qualification

First degree (BTech/BSc/Bed. etc) certificate with a minimum of Second Class (Lower) Division in a related engineering discipline such as automotive/automobile, mechanical, electrical, mechatronic, agricultural, aerospace, and marine.

Working experience in the related field will be an advantage.

Candidates with “Pass” or “Third Class” must pass an interview session to be granted access to the programme.

b. Master of Engineering (MEng)

One year-Master in Engineering in Automotive Engineering or related disciplines are eligible for admission. They will be admitted into year two of the programme.

Foreign applicants from accredited/recognised institutions would be considered for admission in consultation with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission for the determination of equivalences for qualifications. 
 

iii. Master of Science in Business Administration and Innovation 

Options Available: 

  • Accountancy, 
  • Sustainable Banking and Finance, 
  • Management and Organizational Development, 
  • Strategic Marketing, 
  • Logistics and Supply Chain Management or Procurement and Supply Chain Management) 

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have first degree in BTech, BSc, BCom in Business Administration or its equivalent qualification.

Applicants with MBA, MSc, MA or equivalent;

Applicants with professional certificates such as CFE, ICA, ACCA, CIMA (UK), CIM (GH) or its equivalence;

Foreign applicants from accredited/recognised institutions would be considered for admission in consultation with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission for the determination of equivalences for qualifications. 
 

iv. Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering (Structures)

Entry Requirements

Bachelor degree holders in Civil Engineering.

Applicants with second class lower or pass division must additionally pass a selection interview. .

Foreign applicants from accredited/recognised institutions would be considered for admission in consultation with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission for the determination of equivalences for qualifications. 
 

v. Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering (Roads)

Entry Requirements

Bachelor degree holders in Civil Engineering, Geomatic Engineering, Road Engineering Applicants with second class lower or pass division must additionally pass a selection interview.

Foreign applicants from accredited/recognised institutions would be considered for admission in consultation with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission for the determination of equivalences for qualifications.

 

vi. Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering (Water)

Entry Requirements

Bachelor degree holders in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene.

Applicants with second class lower or pass division must additionally pass a selection interview.

Foreign applicants from accredited/recognised institutions would be considered for admission in consultation with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission for the determination of equivalences for qualifications. 
 

vii. Master of Technology in Accounting Information Systems

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have first degree in Accounting, Finance or its equivalent qualification with a minimum of Second-Class Upper Division.

Applicants with lower qualifications should show evidence of relevant industrial experience and/or must pass an interview before admission into the programme.; Applicants with MBA or equivalent;

Applicants with professional certificates such as CFE, ICA, ACCA, CIMA or its equivalence; 

Foreign applicants from accredited/recognised institutions would be considered for admission in consultation with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission for the determination of equivalences for qualifications.

 

viii. Master of Technology in Applied Statistics (Environmental Statistics)

Entry Requirements

The duration of the Master of Technology programme is two (2) years, and to gain admission to the programme, an applicant must satisfy the following minimum entry requirements:

Applicants must have first degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Environmental Statistics or its equivalent with a minimum of Second-Class Upper Division.

Applicants with lower qualifications should show evidence of relevant industrial experience and/or must pass an interview before admission into the programme.

Foreign applicants from accredited/recognised institutions would be considered for admission in consultation with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission for the determination of equivalences for qualifications. 
 

ix. Master of Technology in Applied Statistics (Health Statistics)

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have first degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Biostatistics, Health Statistics or its equivalent qualification with a minimum of Second-Class Lower Division.

Applicants with lower qualification should show evidence of relevant industrial experience and will have to pass an interview before admission into the programme.

Foreign applicants from accredited/recognised institutions would be considered for admission in consultation with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission for the determination of equivalences for qualifications 
 

x. Master of Technology in Applied Statistics (Financial Statistics)

Entry Requirements

The duration of the Master of Technology programme is two (2) years, and to gain admission to the programme, an applicant must satisfy the following minimum entry requirements:

Applicants must have good first degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Financial Statistics or its equivalent qualification with a minimum of Second-Class Lower Division.

Applicants with lower qualification should show evidence of relevant industrial experience and will have to pass an interview before admission into the programme.

Foreign applicants from accredited/recognised institutions would be considered for admission in consultation with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission for the determination of equivalences for qualifications. 

 

xi. Master of Technology in Chemical Engineering

 Entry Requirements

Applicants must have first degree in Building Technology, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Infrastructure Planning, Real Estate or any other relevant field with a minimum of Second-Class Upper Division.

Applicants with lower qualifications should show evidence of relevant industrial experience and/or must pass an interview before admission into the programme

Foreign applicants from accredited/recognised institutions would be considered for admission in consultation with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission for the determination of equivalences for qualifications.
 

xii. Master of Technology in Construction Technology

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have first degree in Building Technology, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Infrastructure Planning, Real Estate or any other relevant field with a minimum of Second-Class Upper
Division.

Applicants with lower qualifications should show evidence of relevant industrial experience and/or must pass an interview before admission into the programme

for admission in consultation with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission for
the determination of equivalences for qualifications

 

xiii. Master of Technology in Interior Design and Resource Management

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have First degree (BSc/BTech/BEd, BA, BFA, etc.) certificate with a minimum of Second Class (Lower) Division in: Interior Design Technology, Furniture Design, Painting and Decoration, Interior Decoration, Building Technology, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Infrastructure Planning, Real Estate, or any other relevant field.

Applicants with lower qualifications must pass an interview before admission into the programme

Foreign applicants from accredited/recognised institutions would be considered for admission in consultation with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission for the determination of equivalences for qualifications 

 

xiv. Master of Technology in Water and Environmental Engineering

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have first degree in Civil, Chemical Engineering or any relevant Engineering-related discipline with a minimum of Second-Class Upper Division.

HND Holders in either Civil or Chemical Engineering with six (6) years industrial experience must pass a selection interview as well as six (6) months top-up course before admission into the programme.

Applicants with lower qualifications should show evidence of relevant industrial experience and/or must pass an interview before admission into the programme..

Foreign applicants from accredited/recognised institutions would be considered for admission in consultation with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission for the determination of equivalences for qualifications.

About KsTU

Kumasi Technical University was established in 1954 as Kumasi Technical Institute (K. T. I. ) to offer craft courses. In 1963, the Institute was converted to a non-tertiary Polytechnic status under the Ghana Education Service to start offering, in addition, technician diploma and sub- professional courses.
