The Student Representative Council (SRC) of Kumasi Technical University has taken a significant step towards enhancing the learning environment and student welfare. The SRC, led by Mr. Isaac Mensah, recently handed over a set of 250 classroom chairs and tables to the university, along with the construction of a borehole to address water issues faced by male halls, namely Ashanti Hall and Liberty Hall.

Recognising the importance of comfortable and conducive classrooms, the SRC collaborated with the Dean of Students to provide high-quality furniture for the benefit of students and lecturers. The set of 250 classroom chairs and tables, meticulously selected to meet the ergonomic needs of students, is expected to improve the overall learning experience at Kumasi Technical University.

The initiative not only focuses on academic facilities but also aims to address basic necessities. The construction of a borehole to serve Ashanti Hall and Liberty Hall was a response to the persistent water challenges faced by the male students residing in these halls. The borehole, equipped with a machine capable of pumping 300 liters per minute, ensures a steady supply of clean water to meet the needs of the students. This intervention by the SRC exemplifies its commitment to enhancing student welfare beyond the classroom.

The handing over was attended by key university officials, including the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Gabriel Dwomoh, who led the inspection of the classroom furniture. The proactive involvement of the Pro Vice-Chancellor demonstrates the university's support for initiatives that prioritize the well-being of the student community. The inspection allowed for quality assurance and affirmed that the furniture meets the required standards for comfort and durability.

Mr. Isaac Mensah, the SRC President, expressed his satisfaction with the successful completion of these projects. He emphasised the importance of providing a conducive learning environment and addressing students' basic needs. The SRC is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of our fellow students.

The SRC's efforts in procuring classroom furniture and constructing the borehole align with their mandate to represent and advocate for the interests of the student body. These initiatives contribute to the overall improvement of the learning experience and enhance the quality of life for students at Kumasi Technical University.
