The determination of KsTU to broaden its frontiers of international collaborations is on course. The Institution has taken a significant step towards strengthening its international collaborations by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Confucius Institute (CI) at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). The signing ceremony took place on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at the Office of the Vice-Chancellor of KsTU.
The delegation from KNUST included Professor Daniel Duah, Dean of the International Programmes Office and Director of CI (Ghana); Professor Su Zibo, Chinese Director of CI and Professor Min Zuchuan, a CI faculty member. They were warmly received by Professor Gabriel Dwomoh, the Vice-Chanacellor and his team.
In his welcome address, Professor Dwomoh expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting its potential to promote cultural exchange and enhance academic opportunities for staff and students of KsTU. "This partnership is a testament to our commitment to broaden the horizon of our academic community through international collaborations," he stated.
The Confucius Institute at KNUST has been a driving force in promoting Chinese language and culture in Ghana, and this partnership is expected to bring similar opportunities to the KsTU community. The Teaching Centre will serve as a hub for language learning, cultural exchange and academic growth.
This collaboration is a continuation of the fruitful discussions initiated in 2024. With the official signing of the MoU, the vision of the Teaching Centre at KsTU is set to become a reality, promising lasting benefits for students, staff and the wider academic community.
