Introduction

The Master of Engineering programme in Automotive Engineering has been designed to produce highly trained skilled engineers in automotive and its related disciplines who will have the capacity and knowledge to use sophisticated tools and equipment diagnosis, repair, service and maintain Automobile vehicles and earth moving equipment in industry. 

Objectives

The objectives of the MEng Automotive Engineering programme are to:

  1. Teach advanced theoretical concepts related to automotive engineering.
  2. Train students to acquire critical, analytical, and technological skills in the field of automotive engineering.
  3. Develop capacities of students in the conducting of advanced Research on current and emerging challenges in the automotive industry. 

 

Intended/Expected Outcomes

At the end of the programme, graduates will be able to:

  1. Use advanced knowledge to diagnose and service automobiles.
  2. Provide automotive service with high professional and ethical standards.
  3. Conduct advanced research into current and emerging automobile challenges; and 

 

Admission requirement

Bachelors’ Degree (BSc/BTech/BEng/BEd) Qualification 

First degree (BTech/BEng/BSc/Bed. Etc.) certificate with a minimum of Second Class (Lower) Division in a related engineering discipline such as automotive/automobile, mechanical, electrical, mechatronic, agricultural, aerospace, and marine.

Working experience in the related field would be an advantage.

Candidates with “Pass” or “Third Class” must pass an interview session to be granted access to the programme. 

 

Foreign Qualification 

All foreign qualifications will be referred to Ghana Tertiary Education Council (GTEC) for determination of equivalences, eligibility and placement when admitted to pursue the programme.
