The Institute of Distance Learning and Continuing Education of Kumasi Technical University is pleased to announce the Short Courses for 2018/2019 academic year. The courses will be run in July/August, 2019. The courses are specially designed to equip participants with skills to enable them to solve problems in their areas of endeavours. They are mainly designed for Professionals, Small Business Owners, Managers, Administrators, Policy Makers, Supervisors, District Assemblies, NGOs, State Agencies, Students and the general public.  S001: Computerized Accounting 

Course Description

The course is designed to teach participants to be able to set up and maintain accounting system using a popular commercial microcomputer accounting software. The steps in the accounting cycle from entering transaction through closing are applied in a computerized environment. Topics include setting up a chart of accounts, sales and purchases transactions, inventory payroll transactions, access and security control and back up procedures.

This course is to train commercial and Industrial technicians/ engineers to acquire the skills in designing and installing complete wiring of systems control in electrical installations. Course Description: Process Safety Engineering and Management

Process safety engineering and management system course prepares participants to apply safety risks assessment methodology such as HAZOP, HAZID, FTA, checklist and what if to identify material, equipment and process hazards, evaluate hazards and provide solutions to control potential risks in processing and manufacturing processes (new or existing).
